The Oracle tree and Moon well.

The Oracle tree and Moon well a place of solitude for the elf people since Elune blessed them with her light and her wisdom. The place is of high significance to them and continues to be a source of great intellect to the elves.

Guldir was shocked at the revelation from his father,  he looked at his father eyes to see if he could see through and see truth in his words but unfortunately for Guldir the truth hurts, “Father so its true, I’m the one who has to gather amongst our men to protect these landa of ours?  Yet you are here always telling me to keep out of Elders’ affairs” Guldir was now walking around in circle to gather his thoughts as his father began to speak Guldir’s friend the dwarf Darrchthane stormed into the hall “Guldir! I came srraight away when I heard the news, is it true?” Darrach waited for a reply when none came he continued, ” oh lord of the seven ales, it’s true so we must make haste and save the lands that are now under threat” Guldir’s father interrupted ” …and who are you pesky dwarf to come in here a rudely interfere in affairs that do not concern you? Darrach moved three paces back towards the door expecting a cast of spells to veer his way “pfft, Gul…dir cho choose me to be one of the warriors of the light”. With that being said the hall fell into a silence like the dawn before sunrise,  awaiting a reply Darrach walked slowly towards the centre of the hall. The elders who were present were whispering and Guldir placed his face in his hands as Darrach went on, “..that’s right you heard me, while you all were signing our freedom over to the humans for mere golds Guldir and I were plotting a way to protect these lands. We found a book in the chambers and we found our answers in it. Guldir is the keeper, the Dryad of the Oracle.”
Guldir’s father moved swiftly to sit down as he didn’t know to what extent his son might or will play in this battle. Now the realization hit him like a tonne of trees. As the hall continued to be en captured by Darrach’s words his father walked in. Dressed in his thaneship clothes bearing the council of three hammers across his chest. His hair long and frigid firey red like a blazing dragon’s breath was on his head. His beard briskly and combed to a tee. In a deep long rough voice he spoke. “Tis I the thane of northern lands and bear witness to the council of elders and noblemen here. My son speaks the truth, when he returned the other night he placed the book in the chambers near my sleeping quarters. As I walked passed it I felt a force so cold I shivered all over. When I turned around the book was floating in thin air right before my eyes. I preceded to walk to it woth my hands tight on my mace. When I got it I began to read what was before me.”

Along with the druids, the Oracle Tree has been carefully monitoring the growth of Teldrassil. Our observations have been disheartening, but all is not without hope.
The tree is indeed recovering since it’s blessing, but the growth is still somehow stunted… hindered.
We suspect some portion of the corruption remains within the tree, waiting to be cleansed. We simply need to find it.

When the thane Darrach’s father finished Guldir moved into his view. Guldir’s father was now on his feet as were the elders. The night fell into deep darkness the lights from outside glazed through the windows lighting up the hall not that the lights inside weren’t broght enough. The elders wrre sweating but it wasn’t day nor wss is it hot. It was at the shock and revelation that one of their own is the keeper the one responsible to bring the light into their kingdom once again but this time it will be for the last and finally. As according to the Oracle prophecy the one place witllhb bhhghbh the burden of his people will shed his people’s blood to win against the tyranny that now faces the elves.

Guldir’s father spoke now amidst the shocking news.

“The Creation of the two moons and tree.
The first sources of light for all of our kingdom the outside world are two enormous Lamps: Elune, the silver one to the north and the pale lady, the white one to the south. These were cast down by Elune. As a result of this, a large inland sea was formed in the place where in the past had been the mountain of Helcar, which held Elube. The sea was named Helcar as well, and it was alongside an arm of this sea, known as Cuivenen, the Waters of Awakening, that the Elves arose. Afterward, the Valar went to Valinor, and Yavanna sang into existence the Two Trees, silver Telperion and golden Laurelin shedding light comparable to moon and sun. Telperion was referred to as male and Laurelin female. The Trees sat on the hill Ezellohar located outside Valimar. They grew in the presence of all of the Valar, watered by the tears of Nienna.

Each tree was and continues to be a source of light: Telperion’s silver and Laurelin’s gold. Telperion had dark leaves (silver on one side) and his silvery dew was collected as a source of water and of light. Laurelin had pale green leaves trimmed with gold, and her dew was likewise collected by Varda.

One “day” lasted twelve hours. Each Tree, in turn, would give off light for seven hours (waxing to full brightness and then slowly waning again), so that at one hour each of “dawn” and “dusk” soft gold and silver light would be given off together.

Jealous Melkor, later named Morgoth by Fëanor, enlisted the help of the giant spider-creature Ungoliant (the first great spider, ancestor of Shelob, and possibly a fallen Maia or, according to Tolkien’s notes, a primeval spirit of night) to destroy the Two Trees. Concealed in a cloud of darkness, Melkor struck each Tree and the insatiable Ungoliant devoured whatever life and light remained in them.”

As Guldir’s father finished he walked directly over to his son and placed his heavy hands on Guldir’s shoulder, ” …son I place the light of Elune in you and with this blessing you shall go forth and protect your people. I pass over the power that Elune gives and taketh from our past elders into your hands the knowledge of a thousand moons is now your wisdom.”
As his father finished, Guldir look around not knowing what was bring ask him at this moment in time, but he knew what ws the objective to protect his people and tske back the lands that have stolen from his forefathers befor him by the humans and the hordes.
As everyone sat back down knowing they were all in the presence of the keeper, the Grand Elder approached Guldir. Guldir never heard this ancient man speak to him before but he knew he was a man of many knowledge and full of intellect.

“My son”, he spoke in a low deep but calm voice.  ” come let me show me you the last chapter of the book you possess”.
Guldir put his hands out and the ancient elder placed the page in his hands. He began to read silently to himself.

Again Yavanna sang and Nienna wept, but they succeeded only in reviving Telperion’s last flower (to become the Moon) and Laurelin’s last fruit (to become the Sun). These were assigned to lesser spirits, male Tilion and female Arien, after the ‘genders’ of the Trees themselves. This is why, the Sun is usually referred to as “she” and the moon as “he”.

However the true light of the Trees, before their poisoning by Ungoliant, was said to now reside only in the three wells, created by Fëanor the most gifted of the Elves.

As Guldir finished as if the ancient elder knew he began to speak again,  “you must find Fëanor he can guide you from here,  remember baby steps don’t be like the dog that barks giving away his position but like the owl observing its territory, he is the one full of wisdom”.
With that Guldir and Darrach both knew where they must seek their answers from Fëanor.
